Lisa's Story
Lisa truly has a love for life.  She's a fun loving, kind hearted person always willing to do anything for anyone.  Lisa really enjoys volunteering at her children's school and also filling in as a substitue teacher when needed.  I've always referred to Lisa as my pretty, sassy sister-in-law; she is an amazing person, wonderful wife and incredible mother.

Lisa's life changed on February 24th, 2009.  After feeling sick with flu-like symptoms on and off for a few weeks, she went to see her doctor and had her blood drawn.  Later that night she received a call at home from her doctor and was told to go to the hospital immediately; she was being admitted.  This certainly came as a shock to her and her husband.  Lisa's white blood count was 1 and her hemoglobin was 3.  Once Lisa got to the hospital, they gave her an immediate blood transfusion and set her up for a bone marrow biopsy for the following day.  The soul-crippling diagnosis came later that night.  Lisa was transferred to the University Hospital in Cleveland, where she will spend the next 4 to 6 weeks.  She had a second bone marrow biopsy and it was confirmed that she has ALL.  We still don't know what stage it is.  Lisa starts chemotherapy tomorrow.

Lisa's families' lives have been turned upside down by this devastating diagnosis.   The happiest and most appreciative people in this world are the ones who have experienced trials and tribulations.  And the reason for that is they know the greatest emotion of all... HOPE!   We are all positive that Lisa will have the courage she needs during her extended hospital stays to keep fighting.  Some days will be harder than others, but we truly believe that she will get through this.  Lisa is a strong person who has a lot of support from her loving family and friends.  We will stand by her every step of the way.
